It is essential to secure cargo when being transported. This is to avoid accidents and make sure that it is delivered safely. This can be done by following some simple steps and using the right equipment.

  1. Step 1: Pack the cargo in boxes, crates or other containers.
  2. Step 2: Make sure that the cargo is not loose and that it is positioned properly in its box or container. The box or container should be well-packed so that there are no gaps between the items of cargo
  3. Step 3: Pad the inside of the box or container with materials like bubble wrap, Styrofoam peanuts, newspapers, excelsior wood shavings, cardboard boxes or crumpled paper towels.
  4. Step 4: Use a harness and tie the box or container securely to your car. You should also secure any loose straps or handles with tape or cord.

In order to secure cargo properly, one must have a secure cargo carrier. chock blocks, and tie-down straps. One should make sure that the carrier is made out of a sturdy material in order to prevent any damage being done to the container or other objects in it. Chock blocks are blocks of wood or metal inserted between two pieces of heavy object in order for them to not move apart from one another when hit with pressure from another object, such as speed bumps or potholes on the road.
